Lake Lyantonde

Lake Lyantonde is one of the many volcanic crater lakes in South-Western Uganda. It’s one of the few crater lakes in Uganda that has been designated as safe for swimming. Many other lakes pose serious risks, such as bilharzia (infectious disease) and dangerous aquatic animals so it’s mostly important to be cautious to swim. Sailing and swimming in Lake Lyantonde and walking around it in the ecological area is really enjoyable. Close to Kasenda and 26 km south of Fort Portal.
